Non-contact measurement is useful for comparing accessible equipment surfaces and looking for temperature differences. The reading is a surface temperature, not an internal or core temperature, and this is not a medical body thermometer.

Choose IR03A for −50 to 400°C or IR03B for −50 to 600°C. IR01C is specified at −50 to 550°C and adds ambient temperature/humidity display; IR01D offers those environmental readings with a −50 to 800°C range. IR02C also has a −50 to 800°C range, ambient temperature/humidity and a supplied contact-temperature probe. IR03A/B are the simpler surface-reading choices and do not include those environmental functions.

The specified distance-to-spot ratio is 12:1, so the measured area grows as you move further away. Match the target size, emissivity setting and measuring distance to the supplied instructions. Two AAA batteries are required and not included. IR02C shows a probe, pouch, manual and box; those extras are not promised for the other model choices.

A handheld infrared thermometer makes repeated surface-temperature checks straightforward.

Use the model's controls to adjust available settings, including units and emissivity.

Check accessible surfaces without placing a contact probe on each point.

Infrared readings concern the visible target surface, not the internal temperature of food or equipment.

A surface reading does not replace a suitable food-core temperature measurement.

The MAX function shown helps compare readings during a scan on equipped models.

Ambient temperature and humidity belong to IR01C/IR01D, with these functions also specified for IR02C.

Automatic sleep reduces idle power use on the illustrated model.

Keep steam away from the sensing area and follow the supplied measuring guidance.

High/low indicators are a configurable instrument function, not a hazard-detection guarantee.

At 12:1, the measurement spot grows with distance;
