The enclosure does not take IDE drives, 12.5 mm-thick drives or M.2/NVMe modules.

Slide open the cover, align the drive with the internal SATA connector and close the enclosure before connecting it. USB supplies the enclosure's power, and the operating system must be able to read the drive's file system. A new blank drive may need initialisation; do not format a drive containing files you want to keep.

The options are labelled Micro B–USB A, USB C–USB A, USB C–USB C and Micro B–USB A OTG. These are alternative connection packages, not all included together. The enclosure does not include a hard drive or SSD; the storage capacity comes from the drive you fit.

Slide the cover open and fit a compatible SATA drive before connecting to the computer.

Check both the SATA connector and the 7 or 9.5 mm drive thickness.

The transparent case lets you see the drive you have fitted; the pictured HDD is not included.

SATA and IDE connectors are different; this enclosure is for SATA drives.

Drive format and file-system compatibility still determine whether the host can read existing files.

The sliding cover gives tool-free access during installation.

Initialise only a new blank drive as needed; formatting an existing drive can erase its files.

Technical details

Product: Transparent external drive enclosure

Drive size: 2.5 inch

Drive interface: SATA

Compatible drive thickness: 7 or 9.5 mm

Drive types: Compatible SATA HDD or SSD

Installation: Tool-free sliding cover

Host connection: USB, according to the selected option

Power: From the USB host

Options: Micro B–USB A, USB C–USB A, USB C–USB C or Micro B–USB A OTG

Package: Enclosure with selected connection option; HDD/SSD not included

Check your drive and USB port, then choose the connection option that puts your spare storage back to use.

Explore more computer accessories

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0764/5980/2954/files/S986a168bef774beeacb70e2e0bc037f96.webp?v=1793211665
https://spy-shop.com/cs/products/transparent-hdd-case-hdd-enclosure-2-5-inch-ssd-sata-to-usb2-0-type-c-adapter-portable-external-hard-drive-box-tool-free
