This tow rope links an adult bike to a child's, stretching from 80 cm to 120 cm on a nylon and elastic cord and rated to 8 kg. It works best once a child pedals a 16-inch or 20-inch bike.

A Tow Rope for the Climb That Ends a Ride

✅ Stretch takes the pull The elastic cord absorbs the slack, described as shock absorbing for a steadier tow up a slope.

✅ Quoted load rating The rope is rated to 8 kg, the figure to weigh against the bike and rider it will pull.

✅ Clips on at the bottom A stem loop and a carabiner come with it, so the rope goes on at the foot of a climb.

✅ Short enough to carry It sits at 80 cm un-stretched and reaches 120 cm, so it packs away between rides without taking space.

✅ Two colours Orange or green, so the rope can be seen along a trail or matched to the bike it follows.

The routine on a ride is short: stop at the foot of the hill, fit the stem loop, clip the rope on with the carabiner and start pedalling gently. At the top, unclip it and both riders carry on independently.

The maker puts the best age at the point where a child is confidently riding a pedal bike, usually one with 16-inch or 20-inch wheels. A balance bike or a first pedal bike with stabilisers is not the setting for it.

Length is the other thing to picture. At 80 cm un-stretched and 120 cm at full stretch the two bikes stay close, which suits a parent and child riding together rather than a long line of riders. One rope comes in the pack; the colour is the only choice on the page.

Technical details

Type: bicycle tow rope

Material: nylon with an elastic cord

Length: 80 cm un-stretched, 120 cm stretched

Load rating: 8 kg

Included: stem loop and carabiner

Colours: orange, green

Pack contents: 1 tow rope

Suited to: children riding a 16-inch or 20-inch pedal bike

Origin: Mainland China

Pick orange or green, then clip it on at the foot of the next climb.

See more: explore more bicycle accessories for family rides

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0764/5980/2954/files/S79d3f66e5b0148df9b66d84c829763faD.webp?v=1793145324
https://spy-shop.com/da/products/strap-hooks-parent-child-rally-rope-outdoor-mountain-bike-towing-pull-rope-portable-tow-rope-safety-bungee-cord-bike-tow-cable
