STANLEY FATMAX Heavy Duty Utility Knife with Sheath and 3 Blades
Blade changes on site rarely happen at a bench. This FATMAX trade knife opens on a pin hinge and releases the blade with a course-threaded thumb wheel, with ten spares kept in the handle. Supplied with two induction hardened blades and a 1996 large hook blade. For site carpenters and fitters.
A working knife that carries its own spares
✅ Swaps blades without a screwdriver The course-threaded thumb wheel opens the body, and a magnetic nose holds the new blade.
✅ Ten spares travel with the knife Magnetic storage in the handle keeps blades on board through a full day of cutting.
✅ Hook blade in the box Two straight FATMAX blades come with a 1996 large hook blade.
✅ Sheath between cuts The included holder covers the blade in a toolbox or bag between jobs.
✅ Steadier on long cuts Grip zones and a flare at the tail of the knife steady the hand.
A blade change mid-job runs in three steps: open the body on its pin hinge, release the thumb wheel, then seat the new blade against the magnetic nose. The redesigned nose narrows the gap around the blade, which is where the accuracy of a long straight cut comes from.
In the box: the FATMAX trade knife, two induction hardened FATMAX blades, one 1996 large hook blade and the protective holder. The same body takes FATMAX carbide utility blades, so a worn edge is replaced rather than the whole tool. Blades are the consumable here, and ten of them can live in the handle.
This is a fixed-blade trade knife rather than a retractable one: the blade is held in the body and reached by opening the hinge, not by sliding a button with a thumb. If you want one-hand blade retraction for opening boxes, a retractable model suits that better; this one is built as a fixed-blade knife for board and cable work.
