Setting it up is mostly a matter of patience with the wire. Unroll it along the branch or rail, bend as you go, and leave the 2 m lead between the plug and the first LED as the reach to the socket. Because the wire is copper rather than a stiff cable, a curve made by hand stays put.

Outdoors, the wire is given for outside use and the plug is rated IP44, but that rating belongs to the plug alone: it has to stay out of standing water and off wet ground. Run the lead to a dry socket or an indoor extension rather than leaving the plug in a puddle.

Two things catch buyers out. The remote needs a button battery, which is not in the box, and the plug type has to be chosen with the order, because several plug options are offered. Certification is given as UL, LVD, EMC, CE and CCC.

Dimming is stated, and the LEDs are supplied with the run; no separate bulbs are needed. Lighting distance is given as 6-10 m and luminous flux as 60-249 lm, which suits decoration rather than lighting a room to read in.
