Large UV-Reactive Folding Rave Fan with Bamboo Ribs

Hot room, low light: a flick of the wrist opens this fan with a loud clack and a flash of colour under blacklight. PVC panels on bamboo ribs span 63 cm open and fold to 33 cm for the trip home. Handmade for dancers, festival crowds and photo props.

A clack, a flash of colour, then it folds away

✅ Snaps open with one flick A quick wrist movement unfolds the fan, and the clack is part of the performance.

✅ Glows under blacklight The reflective PVC panels light up under UV, so the fan reads across a dark floor.

✅ Big frame in photos Open, it spans 63 cm, which gives photographers a wide shape to work with.

✅ Folds small for the journey Closed it measures 33 cm and weighs little, so it fits in a bag between sets.

✅ Air when the room is packed A moving fan is the quickest way to cool down on a hot dance floor.

The sound is half the point. A fast wrist snap opens the panels flat with a sharp clack, which is why these fans turn up in techno sets and drag performances as much as in the crowd. Close it the same way and it sits quiet in your hand until the next track.

The glow only shows under UV light: blacklight tubes, party bars, stage rigs. In ordinary daylight the fan shows its gradient colours and reflective finish instead, so do not expect it to glow in an unlit room without a UV source.

Panels are laser-cut PVC on bamboo ribs, and each fan is put together by hand, so expect small differences between two fans of the same design. That also means the fan is a prop and a cooling accessory rather than a hard-wearing tool; store it closed and flat.

Between festivals it hangs on a wall as decoration, which is where a lot of these fans end up once the season is over. Pick the design that matches the outfit you have in mind and keep it somewhere it will not be crushed.
