Drape it across the windscreen, let the magnets along the front edge find the metal, and smooth the rest down the glass. In the morning the cover lifts away in one pull, and whatever frost has settled sits on the fabric rather than on the screen.

It is a half cover rather than a full car cover. The front windscreen is the part it is made for, so the roof, the sides and the rear of the car are left as they are; if the car stands under trees for months, a full cover takes care of the rest of the body.

Universal fit still comes in one size. Measure the width and height of your windscreen and compare it with the 165 by 110 cm of the cover: a tall van screen or a very wide SUV screen is where a universal cover is most likely to come up short.

The fabric is polyester, silver-coated on one side, and the specification puts frost, snow, rain, dust and paint scratches within its job. It is a cover, not a sealed screen, so standing water and a hard freeze can still creep in under the edges. Shake it out before folding it into the bag.
