Most of the dust that ends up between the keys arrives while the piano sits unused. The cover goes on at the end of a session and comes off in one movement when someone sits down; between those two moments it takes the dust, and the keys stay clear of scratches from rings, cables and anything set down on the instrument.

The two versions are cut to different keybeds. The 61-key cover measures 980 × 400 mm and names the kb90, kb180, kb190, kb191, kb280, kb281, kb290 and kb291 models; the 88-key cover measures 1340 × 290 mm and names the P35, P45, P48, P85, P95, P105, P115, PX130, PX135, PX150, PX330, CDP120, SP170 and SP180. Measure the keyboard before ordering, since those lists are a guide rather than a fit for every keyboard of that size.

One cover comes in the pack; there is no bag, strap or cleaning cloth with it. It covers the keys and the strip in front of them rather than the whole cabinet, so a piano in a dusty room still needs the rest of its top wiped. Because the cloth is light, it does not affect heat dissipation from the piano body.
