Between swims, leaves, dust and rain land in an open pool faster than anyone expects. A rectangular pool cover in woven polyester fabric puts a physical layer over the water while the pool sits unused. It suits inflatable, garden, tub and children's pools that need covering over winter or through a dusty week.

Keeping an unused pool covered between swims

✅ Lighter opening routine Lay the sheet over the water and lift it off when the pool is needed, with no mechanism to wind.

✅ Rain runs off the sheet The fabric is specified as rainproof and sunproof, so the sheet is made for wet weather and strong daylight.

✅ Debris stays off the water Leaves, dust and garden grit collect on top of the cover instead of sinking, which keeps the water clearer between cleanings.

✅ Fits a range of pool shells Rectangular sheets suit inflatable, tub, garden and children's pools, so one cover style works across the pools in a garden.

✅ Sized for the winter shutdown When the swimming season ends, the sheet stays over the pool through the cold months and comes off for spring cleaning.

The cover is a single sheet of woven polyester. You spread it across the water and let the edges hang past the pool wall. The fabric is not foldable, so it is stored as one flat piece rather than packed down small, which is worth knowing if shelf space in a shed is tight.

Sizes are given as a rectangle, and the sheet is cut roughly 10 to 30 cm larger than the pool footprint. Measure along the outer edge of the pool rather than the water line, then expect the sheet to overlap the surround by that margin.

Fixings and weights are not part of the specification, so plan how the sheet will be held down on an exposed site before the first windy night. A cover of this kind keeps leaves and daylight off the water; it is not a safety barrier and should not be treated as one.

Compared with a rigid slatted cover, a fabric sheet has no mechanism to operate at all. That simplicity is the point for a paddling pool or a tub that only needs the water kept clean between uses.
