Place the Extender Where It Can Receive Wi-Fi

An extender needs a usable connection to the existing router. Place it between the router and the area to be served, then test coverage rather than assuming it can repeat a signal from a dead zone.

The 1200M version supports 2.4 and 5 GHz, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and a 100 Mbps WAN/LAN port. The 300M selection is a different model; these 1200M specifications do not apply automatically to it. Neither selection is a modem.
