An infrared thermometer measures an area of the visible surface, not a hidden internal temperature. Choose the distance and target so the measurement spot fits the object you intend to check.
This AE320 option is for industrial/object surfaces, not human-body temperature. Surface finish and emissivity affect the result. Follow the operating instructions and keep the laser away from eyes when positioning the tool.
