Garage Door Emergency Release Lock with Two Keys
Plan for manual access when your garage opener cannot run. This keyed emergency release uses a steel cable to connect an exterior lock to a compatible release mechanism. It is for garage owners who want a mechanical backup route.
- ✅ Operate without mains power — The key-and-cable mechanism gives access to the connected manual release.
- ✅ Reach the release from outside — The cylinder mounts through a suitable garage-door panel.
- ✅ Keep a spare access key — Two keys let you organise a primary and backup key.
- ✅ Cover the key opening between uses — A hinged cap closes over the cylinder face.
A keyed connection to your opener's manual release
The through-panel lock and cable form a mechanical connection to a compatible garage opener release. Unlocking the fitted cylinder allows the release cable to be pulled so the opener can be disengaged.
Check the panel thickness, lock dimensions and release attachment before fitting. The stated panel range is 25–45 mm, and the cable is approximately 1.8 m long.
The package contains the release lock with cable and two keys. It does not include a garage opener or door, and compatibility depends on the existing mechanism.
Two keys operate the covered exterior cylinder.
Check the lock dimensions against your door-panel installation.
The mechanical release connects to a compatible garage-door opener.
