Transparent 2.5-Inch SATA HDD/SSD USB Enclosure
Use a compatible spare laptop drive as external storage instead of leaving it loose in a drawer. This transparent USB enclosure fits suitable 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs. It is for computer users connecting a separate drive to a compatible USB host.

Give a spare SATA drive a USB connection
Check the drive before ordering: it must be a compatible 2.5-inch SATA model with a 7 or 9.5 mm body. The enclosure does not take IDE drives, 12.5 mm-thick drives or M.2/NVMe modules.
Slide open the cover, align the drive with the internal SATA connector and close the enclosure before connecting it. USB supplies the enclosure's power, and the operating system must be able to read the drive's file system. A new blank drive may need initialisation; do not format a drive containing files you want to keep.
The options are labelled Micro B–USB A, USB C–USB A, USB C–USB C and Micro B–USB A OTG. These are alternative connection packages, not all included together. The enclosure does not include a hard drive or SSD; the storage capacity comes from the drive you fit.
Slide the cover open and fit a compatible SATA drive before connecting to the computer.
Check both the SATA connector and the 7 or 9.5 mm drive thickness.
The transparent case lets you see the drive you have fitted; the pictured HDD is not included.
SATA and IDE connectors are different; this enclosure is for SATA drives.
Drive format and file-system compatibility still determine whether the host can read existing files.
The sliding cover gives tool-free access during installation.
Initialise only a new blank drive as needed; formatting an existing drive can erase its files.
