Choose a ceiling position where people move through the detection area. PIR sensing responds to movement, so it should not be treated as a constant-presence sensor for someone sitting still.

The light may switch off after its delay and respond to movement again; plan its use for a passing area rather than relying on uninterrupted task lighting. The fitting requires a suitable mains connection and mounting arrangement.
