Give analogue signals a digital reading

A sensor may provide a voltage while the controller needs a numeric value. An ADC board provides the conversion stage, letting a suitable host read the signal through its software.

Check input limits, supply, grounding and gain settings before wiring. Channels share the conversion system rather than being measured simultaneously, and 16-bit resolution alone does not guarantee the accuracy of the complete sensor setup.
