Use a consistent sample and calibration method

A refractometer can support repeatable checks when the sample and measurement method are appropriate. Apply the sample as instructed, view the scale and record the reading under comparable conditions.

The RF009 includes automatic temperature compensation over its stated range and manual calibration adjustment. Fermenting mixtures need the appropriate interpretation or correction; a refractometer reading alone does not directly establish the final alcohol percentage of every beverage.
