Take a wind reading you can compare later

Choose a clear checking position away from nearby obstructions that can distort the airflow. Keep the cup assembly free to rotate and note the location alongside the selected measurement mode.

The compass is a directional reference, not an automatic wind-direction sensor. Use the same mounting height and position when comparing sessions, and prepare two AAA batteries before leaving so the meter is ready at the site.
