Battery-Free Analogue Soil Moisture Meter

Check a soil-moisture reference before deciding whether a suitable potted plant needs water. This analogue meter uses a colour-coded scale without batteries. It is for gardeners comparing soil conditions across pots and beds.

• ✅ Check below the surface — A probe reaches into the soil rather than judging the top layer alone.
• ✅ Read a simple moisture category — Colour zones distinguish dry, moist and wet readings.
• ✅ Avoid battery changes — The analogue meter requires no battery.
• ✅ Move between plant pots — A lightweight body fits a small gardening kit.

Use the scale alongside the plant's requirements

Insert the probe to the depth specified in the instructions and compare the scale with the needs of the particular plant. One wet/dry reading does not establish the same watering schedule for every species.

The meter is intended for suitable soil, not gravel, stones, wood chips or other non-soil media. Remove and clean the probe after checking rather than leaving it permanently in the pot.
