Check the input level before connecting

An RF power meter can provide a useful signal-level reference when its range matches the test. Choose the version around both frequency and expected power, not frequency alone.

Keep the applied signal within the selected model's actual input limits. Use a correctly rated attenuator when required and account for its loss; display resolution does not establish calibrated measurement accuracy.
