Two limits are worth knowing before ordering. The radio arrives without a battery and runs on a 3 V supply, so fit a fresh one; and it is not water resistant, so a dry shelf, a windowsill or a tent floor is the right home for it.

Its place is wherever a socket and a signal are not always there: a kitchen shelf in the morning, a shed bench during a job, a tent at a campsite, or a cupboard for the nights when the power fails. The stereo output runs to the built-in speaker or to earphones through the 3.5 mm jack.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are absent, so the QL-11 is a broadcast radio rather than a speaker for streaming from a phone. If you want the AM, FM and shortwave bands with no screen and no pairing step, that is exactly what it does.
