Two numbers on the label do different jobs. The wattage, 13 W or 26 W, describes how much power the bulb draws from a 220–240 V supply; the UVB figure, 5.0 or 10.0, describes the strength of its ultraviolet output. Match both to the bulb you are taking out.
UVB is the part of daylight linked to calcium metabolism in reptiles, and a lamp that gives only heat and visible light does not supply it. That is the reason a UVB bulb is run to a schedule rather than left on all day.
Run the lamp for four to six hours a day and replace it around every three months to keep the output at its stated level. It works from mains power at 220–240 V, so there are no batteries to charge and nothing else to prepare.
