Enrol the key before relying on it

A security key becomes useful after it has been registered with the intended account. Check the service's instructions, enrol it and test sign-in while retaining a separate recovery method.

Verify the actual processor version and host support before purchase, since the product references include different boards. USB adapters may be needed for mobile devices, and the key does not secure an account automatically or work with every service.
