RS485 Optical Meter Probe - IEC62056 Communication

Read a compatible meter through its optical port and an RS485 connection. This magnetic infrared probe provides a local communication link for supported metering equipment, without using a direct electrical contact at the optical reading point.

✅ Connect to a compatible optical meter port - The infrared transmitter and receiver provide two-way serial communication.

Give Meter Reading a Dedicated Optical Link

An optical port provides access to meter communication without changing the meter's main wiring. A matching probe sits at that port while the connected host handles requests and interprets the returned data.

Use the meter's permitted access method and the correct software and protocol configuration. The probe transports communication rather than automatically decoding every meter, and RS485 is not a direct USB connection without a suitable interface.
