Plan the installation around the instrument

Check the soundhole dimensions and the pickup-bar fit before purchase, along with the tail-end mounting position. A fitted pickup should match the instrument's construction rather than relying only on the ukulele label.

Prepare two CR2032 batteries and test the installed system with suitable connected equipment. Installation includes a tail-end mounting hole, so have the work carried out by an instrument technician if you are not comfortable modifying the instrument.
