Fibre Optic Visual Fault Locator, 2.5 mm & FC–LC Options
Trace a disconnected fibre during installation or inspect an accessible section for visible light leakage. This pen-style visual fault locator connects to suitable SC, FC or ST ferrules through its 2.5 mm interface. It is for fibre technicians choosing the appropriate output and adapter for their test.

A visual fibre check with the right connector option
Choose the option labelled 10MW, 30MW, 50MW, 80MW or 100MW and the FC to LC package where required. These are stated output-power options, conventionally expressed in mW; one selected locator is supplied, not every version. The FC–LC adapter is included only with the corresponding adapter option.
A VFL provides a visible check, not a calibrated optical-loss measurement or OTDR distance reading. Whether leakage is visible depends on the fibre, jacket, access and fault. No fixed test distance is guaranteed by the option name. Use it only on appropriately isolated fibres and follow the test procedure for the installation.
The package states one locator, nylon case, lanyard and manual. Two AA batteries are required and excluded. This is a laser test instrument: never look into the output or connected fibre end and never aim it at eyes. Follow the device laser label and professional fibre-testing precautions.
