Give Loose Components a Clearer Starting Point

When sorting parts or investigating a repair, identifying a suitable removed component can save a separate search for each basic test. Connect the part in the arrangement required by the tester and use its result as one piece of diagnostic information.

Use the tester only within its supported component ranges. Disconnect parts from power and discharge capacitors appropriately before testing; do not insert a battery or live circuit into the component terminals. The unit is a component tester, not an AC/DC voltage multimeter.
