10 mW Fibre Visual Fault Locator, 2.5 mm & FC–LC Option
Identify a disconnected fibre or inspect visible leakage while maintaining a fibre link. This 10 mW visual fault locator uses a 2.5 mm interface for suitable SC, FC and ST connections. It is for fibre technicians who need a portable visual check, with an optional FC–LC adapter.

A portable visual test for accessible fibre links
Use the 2.5 mm universal interface with appropriate SC, FC or ST ferrules, or choose 10MW with FC-LC for the additional adapter. The plain 10MW version does not include that adapter. Connector fit and the fibre's condition should be checked before testing.
The red output provides a visual indication rather than an optical power-loss measurement or the distance to a fault. Jacket construction, fibre attenuation and access affect what is visible, so a stated kilometre figure is not a guaranteed working range.
The locator requires two AA alkaline batteries, which are not included. One selected tester is supplied, with a lanyard illustrated; a carrying pouch is not confirmed in this package. Treat the device as a laser test instrument: never view the output or connected fibre end directly or aim at eyes. Follow the laser label and the applicable fibre-testing procedure.
The 2.5 mm interface accepts suitable ferrules; the fibre lead is an example.

The switch provides continuous output, off and pulsed output.
The FC-LC adapter is only included with 10MW with FC-LC.
The battery compartment takes two AA alkaline cells, sold separately.
A lanyard is illustrated for carrying between work points.
