Bring soil readings into your smart-home routine
Insert the clean probe into the soil to the marked minimum line, leaving the upper housing above the soil. Allow the reading to settle before using it. The moisture value gives you a local measurement at the probe; decide when to water according to the plant, soil and conditions.
A compatible Zigbee gateway is required: this sensor does not connect directly to your Wi-Fi router. Tuya Smart and Smart Life display air temperature and soil moisture. Compatible Zigbee2MQTT or Home Assistant integrations expose additional readings and settings, including air humidity and calibration; available features depend on the integration.
You can review changes in the app and configure compatible scenes if you also have suitable irrigation equipment. The sensor itself has no pump or valve. Fit two AAA batteries before setup; batteries, gateway and watering equipment are not included. Keep the device out of standing water and do not submerge it.
