HW-100 Wall Stud Finder with Metal & AC Scan Modes
Plan a shelf or bracket position with more information about the wall beneath the surface. The HW-100 handheld scanner offers stud, metal and AC-wire scan modes. It is for DIY and installation work as one aid alongside other checks.
- ✅ Compare possible fixing positions — Scan the intended area before marking and compare the displayed responses along the wall.
- ✅ Transfer an indicated position to the wall — The upper marking opening provides a place to make a pencil reference.
- ✅ See the scan information together — The LCD shows mode, signal response, centre indication and battery status.
- ✅ Change the search for the task — Separate stud, metal and AC modes let you choose the relevant scanning function.
- ✅ Check another area without a mains lead — Battery operation keeps the handheld scanner portable between fixing positions.
Scan, compare and mark before choosing a fixing point
Start with the calibration procedure in the manual, using a suitable reference area, then move the scanner steadily over the surface. Repeat the scan from more than one direction and compare the indications. Wall composition, moisture, target size and position affect the response.
The three stud settings are labelled for different depths. Metal and AC modes provide additional indications, but a quiet display cannot establish that a wall is clear or that a cable is dead. This scanner is not a voltage-isolation tester and must not be used as proof that drilling is safe.
One HW-100 scanner and a manual are included. Choose blue, grey, yellow or red housing; the colour choices are separate units rather than a set. Supply the required 9 V 6F22 battery separately and use suitable fixings for the wall and load.

The selectable modes are scanning aids, not a guarantee that every hidden object will be found.

Use the upper opening to mark an indicated position after comparing repeated scans.

Wood, metal and AC scan modes address different targets.

Target position, wall materials and calibration affect the response.

An AC indication is not proof of electrical isolation or a clear drilling path.

The depth labels are nominal mode settings, not guaranteed reach in every wall.

The LCD combines mode, direction, centre, signal and battery indications.

The approximate body dimensions are 146 × 66 × 30 mm.

Use the scanner as one part of planning a fixing position.

One selected-colour scanner and manual are supplied; the battery is not included.

The approximately 146 mm body is sized for handheld scanning.

The side scan/calibration button is separate from the front mode controls.
