Fibre Visual Fault Locator - Output Options
A break in a fibre run is invisible, and a light source makes it findable. This visual fault locator injects visible laser light into a fibre so a break or a tight bend shows as a bright spot.
✅ Find a break in the run - The visible light escapes at a break or a sharp bend, showing where the problem is.
✅ Choose the output for the distance - 10, 30, 50, 80 and 100 mW versions are listed, for shorter or longer runs.
✅ Use a pen-format tool - The locator is handheld and used at the patch panel or the fibre end.
Light in the fibre, a spot at the fault
Clean the connector before inserting the locator, and never look into the fibre or the locator's output; the laser is invisible until it hits the fibre but is still hazardous. Use the correct adapter for the connector type.
A higher output reaches further but is more hazardous; choose the lowest output that shows the fault. The locator finds breaks and bends, it does not measure loss or certify a link.
